 Star Trek Voyage season 2 episode 13 "Prototype", two craft with android crews manufactured by warring cultures continue to war after terminating their creators who had declared truce and tried to terminate the androids. Their prime directive being to eliminate the enemy, and the peaceful creators had become the enemy by trying to terminate them, and by renouncing the war for which they, the androids, had been created. 

Is there historical human similarity?
